White Fillings
White composite resin fillings are the modern day choice in most situations. They can be matched in colour to your own teeth giving an excellent cosmetic result. Many of our patients prefer to have their existing old amalgam fillings replaced with white composite resin for a more natural look so they can smile and laugh with confidence.
Advances in composite resin technology mean that the material is as strong and reliable as amalgam. Composite resin is bonded directly to tooth structure which means that less tooth preparation is required and the tooth will be strengthened. It is no wonder that with the continuing debate over the safety of the mercury content of amalgam fillings that white fillings are quickly becoming the preferred choice.
